A big welcome to Sage Rods as they join the Sponsorship team again this year. Sage will be donating a Circa Rod to this year’s derby.
To anyone who knows, the CIRCA is a perfect addition to your rod collection, allowing you to approach a river with stealthy, short-range accuracy. Its hypnotically smooth slower tempo combined with crisp and precise loading and unloading of each cast results in unmatched accuracy and delicate presentations. Will you be the lucky winner?
The largest fish caught on each lake will receive a $25 gift certificate to Wholesale Sports.
Prizes for the largest fish caught for all five derby eligible lakes will be awarded to 8th place.

The summer is busy for everyone and there are always other events, get togethers, and commitments that mean you’re missing out on the fun.
If you wanted another way to contribute, we have set up a GoFundMe site so you can still contribute to the charity proceeds of the derby even if you can’t attend.
100% of the proceeds of the derby are being split between the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, two charities that Peter held close to his heart.
We have a very fun weekend planned, and while things are still coming together, here’s what we have so far.
Friday June 12th camping will open at Whispering Pines Ranch for those who have booked/entered in advance. If there are still spots available it will be first come, first served for the remaining spots.
Friday night June 12 – Derby Sign in opens at 5:00pm-10:00pm
Saturday morning June 13th – sign in for any late coming Derby entrants will begin at 7:00am.
All Derby participants will receive a lanyard and a PCM Derby sticker as well as a ticket to the Angler’s Dinner.
Derby will run from 8am-5pm on Saturday, June 13. Each lake will have a Derby official to record and photograph the fish caught. Anglers must be wearing a lanyard in order to register a fish with the official. Fish retention is up to the regulations on the lake and the individual angler.
Prizes will be awarded to 4th place for longest fish caught.
The lakes eligible for the Derby are:
Hook Lake – Pennask
Kidd Lake – Kamloops
Thalia Lake – Pennask
Kump Lake – Pennask
Round Lake – Fraser Valley & Kamloops
Laird Lake – Brook & Blackwater
In addition there will be a grand prize for any angler able to complete the Pike Mountain Slam. Catch all 5 species of trout and claim bragging rights!! To achieve this the angler must fish three different lakes in one day.
The Angler’s Dinner will be held at Seven Half Diamond Ranch Saloon. Dinner will be served at 7. Prizes and an auction will be awarded there with all proceeds going to The Canadian Diabetes Association and the Freshwater Fisheries of BC
Campers are welcome to stay at Whispering Pines until Sunday, June 14th.
