This year’s derby is going to be incredible! We have a record number of people, groups, and businesses donating to help us raise money for some great charities!
Black’s Flies is once again sending us some fly boxes filled with their quality tied flies.
Anyone who attended last year will remember the fantastic selection they provided for all types of fishing.
New to our team this year is Core Mechanical! Jim and Ryan’s very generous donation will enable us to acquire … well we have HUGE plans and want to keep some things as a surprise. Suffice it to say, you WILL want to attend this year. A bigger and better derby demands bigger and better prizes!
What could we be planning, you ask? Well, you’ll just have to come and find out. We may be giving out a hint or two before the derby. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
Redington has been confirmed as a 2016 Derby sponsor! We’re excited to announce they are donating a Butter Stick this year. The Butter Stick is built from high modulus fiberglass, premium components, and they gave it retro styling. The Butter Stick has enough flex to deliver delicate presentations, but all the strength to reach fish on the far bank.
Have you got your entry in yet? Ya don’t get ’em if ya don’t go.
Who wants to hear about another sponsor? Another possible prize? How about #WholesaleSports? Three stores, Kamloops, Westbank, and Langley, have all jumped in to sponsor our #fishingderby and raise money for a great cause! Whether you go in the store or shop online, they have everything you need to tackle the outdoors.
The #CanadianDiabetesAssociation and #SteelheadSociety of BC will both be attending the Anglers’ Dinner and tell us about their organizations.
A big welcome to Sage Rods as they join the Sponsorship team again this year. Sage will be donating a Circa Rod to this year’s derby.
To anyone who knows, the CIRCA is a perfect addition to your rod collection, allowing you to approach a river with stealthy, short-range accuracy. Its hypnotically smooth slower tempo combined with crisp and precise loading and unloading of each cast results in unmatched accuracy and delicate presentations. Will you be the lucky winner?
Well, anglers and friends, it’s finally happened. We’ve been working towards this for quite a while now and it’s time to unveil the new PCM Memorial Derby Logo!
With help from Carolyn at Sprokit Media, we have come up with a great new design.
We hope you like it as much as we do. All participants in the derby will be receiving a PCM Derby t-shirt with the new logo on it. Remember we are only allowing sixty entries this year and space is filling up fast. So call and get your spot reserved for the May Long Weekend!
There are still camping spaces available at Whispering Pines, but like the entries, they are going fast. Call Jamie at 604-807-3005 for more information.
To everyone that has already entered, can you send us an e-mail with your t-shirt size? We are trying to get an accurate order in this year. We’re offering women’s shirts this year as well so, ladies, that goes for you too.
Tight Lines, everyone! This year is going to be amazing!
We are so excited to officially announce that the talented artist, Charlie Clark, has agreed to do some ORIGINAL artwork for the PCM Memorial Derby!
Charlie is incredibly skilled at painting wildlife. If you haven’t seen his work, definitely check out his website.
The piece he is doing for the PCM Derby will be the first in a series he is willing to do specifically for the derby every year. Each year we will be auctioning off a new painting to raise money for our deserving charities. This is your chance to own a one of a kind piece of art from an up and coming artist! Attend every year and start your collection.
Thank you, Charlie! Welcome to the PCM Derby family!
Has again graciously donated t-shirts and swag for this years derby! Attendees last year will remember the cool “Got Trout?” shirts they got with their entries. We have a new design coming this year. Who wants to start a collection?
We’re also looking at offering hats and t-shirts for sale at the derby to add to the charity fund raising. In any case there will be plenty of fun to be had and with the available SIXTY spots fast filling up, there is only one question.
Have you registered yet?
The 2016 Derby is fast approaching and with it, more sponsors!
Cooper’s Foods in Merritt has graciously offered to provide food for the Anglers’ Dinner on Sunday. For those of you that attended last year, you’ll remember the feast of salads, smoked Turkey (thanks to Bradley Smokers), vegetarian lasagna, and slow roasted whole pork (thanks to Pacific Northwest Garden Supply). This year will be bigger and better than last year! Thank You Paul from Cooper’s foods!
Purity Feeds of Merritt is also making a prize donation! What is it? You’ll have to attend to find out!
Work N’ Play of Merritt is also donating. Will it be a raffle item, prize donation or auction item? Only the lucky attendees will know!
Don’t worry if you’re not a fisherman (person?), everyone is welcome to attend. We will be having a by-donation pancake breakfast on Sunday morning and the cost for attending the Anglers’ Dinner for non-participants is $20 per person and entitles you to our raffle and live auction. All proceeds go to our two fantastic charities, The Canadian Diabetes Association and the Steelhead Society of BC.
Looking forward to keeping you updated on new sponsors and news as they unfold as we count down to Derby Day!
Stay tuned! Tight Lines!
