Happy 2019, everyone!
As the first couple of months of 2019 are fading into a snow and ice encrusted memory, we are longing for days spent under the sun. Dreams of birds singing as the waves lap gently against the hull of a boat, the sound of line flying through the air to land on the still waters of a peaceful lake in hopes of enticing a big one to bite…
The 2019 PCM Memorial Flyfishing Derby will once again be held on May long weekend. Anglers are welcome to come and set up camp at Whispering Pines Friday, May 17 and stay through to Monday the 20th. Official derby days will be the Saturday and Sunday with the Anglers dinner and awards ceremony taking place at Seven Half Diamond Ranch Saloon Sunday evening.
Feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spots.
The 2018 Derby raised $3,270.10 that went towards the Steelhead Society of BC and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC. This means you anglers have raised over $17,175.00 towards enhancing fishing for future generations to come!
Come and join us again this year for fun, fresh air, and fundraising!
Hang in there, spring is coming! Tight Lines!
That’s right for the second derby in a row we have been offered the opportunity to purchase a boat to be raffled off in an ENTRY DRAW!
Thanks to Clay Martin and Johanna Belloch of Royal LePage Realty we are offering up this 1036 AlumaCraft to everyone who enters the 2018 PCM Memorial Derby. This means, even if you don’t manage to catch a single fish, you can still have the change to win this incredible little boat.
We only have about a dozen spots left in this year’s derby and the free camping spots are filling up fast. Call Jamie at 604-807-3005 to sign up now! Don’t miss out on your chance to win this perfect fly fishing boat.
Thank you Clay and Johanna for supporting the PCM Memorial Derby and helping us raise money for the Freshwater Fisheries Society and the Steelhead Association, ensuring there are fish in our rivers and lakes for generations to come.
The entry forms are available HERE
Please note! This year all derby fees MUST be paid in advance. We accept personal cheque by mail or can accept Visa/MasterCard over the phone. If you can track us down in person we will also be happy to take cash.
We’re looking forward to another successful weekend of fishing, fun, and fundraising. This year all the proceeds will be going to the Steelhead Society of BC and The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
As I look out my window into the whiteout blizzard dumping snow all through the Thompson Nicola region…I CANNOT WAIT for Spring to get here!
Start tying your flies now, we’re officially on derby day countdown.
I know I do. Our home is littered with Islander Reels of all shapes and sizes and they never let us down. I wish I was eligible for the derby cause Islander has joined the sponsorship team again! For trout anglers in search of the perfect fly reel, the Islander has it. Precision machined, buffed to a mirror finish and built to exacting standards—all in Canada.
If you’re fly fishing…you need flies. Rob Texmo has once again offered up a box of his premium flies. Anyone who has been to previous derbies knows that these are a hot commodity and greatly admired.
Thanks to Islander Reels and Flies by Tex for helping to make the May Long weekend a success!
We’re now on Twitter and Instagram! You can find us on both @PCMDerby
Share your pictures and stories from past derbies with us!
